To the editor,
Wild Rose asks for city to build $1.4 million dollar frontage road so it will enhance the value of their property – Drees property and Reuter Farms property.
In 1976 I sold property at the corner of Mulberry and Hiway 30 to Binns Equipment for a John Deere dealership. In 1977 I sold property beside it to Farm Credit for an office building.
We needed a frontage road. I contacted Lee Murphy Const. and he did the dirt work and grading and we had it paved and donated it to the city – and we paid for all of it. Didn’t ask for any help and didn’t get any. Then we asked to be annexed into city limits. The south 800 ft of our farm is city limits.
For future development we don’t need another truck plaza. We have one 1/2 mile away that’s paid for.
Fix city streets and infrastructure. Private business should pay their own way, like we did.
